Bike Blessing on the 1st of May

Every year on the first of May, in Bruneck, a small city nested between beautiful South Tyrolean mountains, hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts meet to get their bikes blessed, celebrate Spring or simply ogle great bikes.

Meeting point in the morning was a petrol station, where my dad and his Goldwing friends were busy showing off their latest gadgets.

 Spotted a nice Ferrari...

Unfortunately, our friend Michele had to turn back home after only a short way, because he had electrical problems on his Moto Guzzi LeMans.
My brother's Laverda SFC however ran perfectly and was the center of attention, much to the chagrin of the Goldwing team. hehe

Prima donnas: (from the front): a MotoMorini Corsaro, a Benelli TnT and a Ducati Pantah

Would be better with the fairing..

This guy doesn't value his family jewels very much me thinks...

A beauty! FN 350 from 1928

"...and on the second day the Lord created a Yamaha". I tend to agree, but I'm not sure it was a scooter...

Ducati heaven

Laverda SF. It says 'Markus' on the helmet, sadly not me.

Moto Guzzi Falcone from the Italian fire fighters, complete with siren (under the headlight)

Another pristine Laverda SF 750

Wehrmacht BMW with sidecar

BMW with 2 wheel drive

My brother signs to the number plate with the Wehrmacht swastika....apparently forbidden in Germany

Mint oto Guzzi California. Ewan McGregor likes it and so do I

2006 Ducati Multistrada 620. Is the design too far ahead for its time or just plain ugly? I'm still deciding.

No need to decide on this fantastic MotoGuzzi V11 Sport

Hello! Yamaha XT500, she's family.

Moto Guzzi California with side car

Another Guzzi, this time an automatic!

Benelli, not sure about the model

Among hundreds of bikes, the only SR500...MY SR500 :-))

For lunch we went to a cozy farm/restaurant  with this amazing view.

The food was nice and the wine was pretty good, too.  Here you can see the starter, moments before it got ravaged by a horde of hungry Goldwing friends.
